Low-pile rug - Lucien Border Green brings more calm and cohesion to your sitting area. The green field with dark border frames the space in a calm, strong way and makes furniture feel more like a unified whole. This is exactly what makes this low-pile rug so fitting in a mid-century modern interior, where walnut, vintage forms and soft fabrics come together. As a wool rug, Lucien Border is hand-woven from 100% wool. The partly sheared pile gives the surface a subtle lived-in effect, whilst the 5 mm pile feels compact and well-maintained. Thanks to wool's natural insulating properties, the rug stays pleasant in every season and is also suitable for underfloor heating.

Material Material Wool Sheep's wool is the basis of this rug, and owes its dirt and moisture repellent properties to lanolin, the wool's own natural grease, which also insulates against the cold and muffles sound better than a hard floor. In the first few weeks the fibre may shed slightly, a normal trait that settles down with regular vacuuming. Because wool rugs are often hand knotted or hand woven, small irregularities and slight size variations are normal.	Wool

Cleaning methods Cleaning methods Vacuum cleaner You can vacuum the rug with the bristles tucked in. To protect the delicate fibers, we advise against using vacuum cleaners (stick vacuums/robot vacuums), and for flat-woven rugs, to vacuum in the direction of the weave. Material

Sheep's wool is the basis of this rug, and owes its dirt and moisture repellent properties to lanolin, the wool's own natural grease, which also insulates against the cold and muffles sound better than a hard floor. In the first few weeks the fibre may shed slightly, a normal trait that settles down with regular vacuuming. Because wool rugs are often hand knotted or hand woven, small irregularities and slight size variations are normal.

Care

Vacuum twice a week with the brush retracted, this also reduces shedding on a new wool rug. Blot a spill immediately with a clean, slightly damp cloth without rubbing, so dirt does not work further into the fibre. Wool dries more slowly than other materials, so avoid getting it too wet. Shake the rug out outside occasionally for a deeper clean between vacuuming.

On colder days

Wool holds on to warmth, which you feel most on a wooden or tiled floor.

Light shedding at first

Some loose fibre can be left over from the making, and a few rounds with the vacuum removes it.

Slow to absorb moisture

A drop sits on the surface for a moment, so dabbing is usually enough.
